Richard Dougan came to speak to the obstetricians and gynaecologists of Ulster at the winter meeting of the Ulster Obstetrical & Gynaecological Society. He led us through his odyssey from its simple beginnings in the Mourne Mountains to its culmination 29, 000 feet later at the summit of Mt Everest. We were enthralled by his passion and commitment to the task - 10 years in the making. His slides were breathtaking. It was a truly emotional journey. I can recommend Richard as an inspiring speaker. His enthusiasm certainly brought our meeting to life.
